PLR stands for private label rights. A PLR digital paper pack comes with permission to resell the paper files under your own name. It is how many digital product shops fill their catalogs without designing every pattern from scratch. Here is what PLR rights include, what they never include, and how to use them in a way that builds a real shop.
What PLR lets you do
With our Resell (PLR) license you can:
- Sell the paper files as your own digital paper pack, unchanged or edited, under your own shop name, on your own website or on marketplaces.
- Edit them: recolor, resize, crop, combine them with your own designs, or split a pack into smaller sets.
- Do everything the Commercial license allows: unlimited physical products, print on demand, and backgrounds in your own digital products.
What PLR does not let you do
- Pass resell rights on. Your customers get a personal or commercial license from you, never the right to resell the files. Otherwise the same files would multiply across shops and lose their value for everyone, including you.
- Give the files away in bulk or upload them to free download sites.
- Register the designs as your own trademark or copyright, or use the files to train AI models.
Other shops’ PLR terms differ, so read each license carefully. Some forbid editing, some require credit, some limit the number of copies you can sell.
Making PLR paper your own
PLR packs are sold to more than one buyer, so the shops that do best with them add something. A few ideas:
- Recolor to your brand palette. A pattern in your shop’s colors already looks different from the original.
- Curate. Combine papers from several packs into a new theme, for example “cottage kitchen” from florals, gingham and citrus prints.
- Add your own elements: coordinating cards, tags, labels, or a matching planner.
- Make finished products: printable gift wrap sets, party kits, journal kits, where the paper is part of a larger product.
- Write your own listings and mockups. Never copy our product descriptions or photos. Your listings should describe your product.
Is PLR worth it?
For a new digital shop, PLR gets you a catalog quickly and lets you test which styles sell before you invest in custom design. It is less useful if you want designs nobody else has. For that, our studio offers exclusive collections designed for one brand only and never sold in our shop.
